Our Post 10 Honor Guard needs some added team members.
To become a member requires 1. being a member of Post 10, and 2. being willing to (sometimes) put serving at a funeral or other events high on your priority list. Your training and your uniform will be provided by the Honor Guard. The team meets two times per month (second and fourth Thursdays) to constantly develop and reinforce our procedures. No prior experience is required.
What does the Honor Guard do? Funerals for local Veterans are our primary objective (100 per year or more) and we also do Special Services, which is mostly the presentation of Colors for local businesses and patriotic groups. The Honor Guard derives its financial support from donations given by the families and organizations that we serve.
If you are interested then please contact Gil Dunnagan at 392-1677 or Ken Pike at 622-0220. Then you can attend a meeting to look us over and decide if joining in our effort will work for you.
