American Legion 100th Celebration

This is our year. The Year of the Legion.  We at Post 10 will be celebrating the founding – March 15 – 17, 2019 – of The American Legion in Paris, France after WWI.

On March 16, 2019, we will recognize and celebrate of The American Legion’s first 100 years.

Celebration begins at 11:00 AM at the Legion Memorial in Hugh MacRae Park.  It is open to all Veterans and the general public. This event is free of charge.

We will celebrate this date with a Proclamation from New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington.  City and County officials and an American Legion official will be present to recognize the contributions by the American Legion to Veterans, Active Duty military, and our nation.

Also, the award-winning Wilmington Post 10 Honor Guard will participate in this event.

This event will occur at the Legion Memorial in Hugh MacRae Park; the best entrance to the park is off of S. College Road.

At 12:30 PM the celebration continues at Post 10.  This celebration includes live music from the L Shape Lot, Military memorabilia, American Legion banners and displays along with the best Pork BBQ and Baked Chicken in the world. This event is priced at $25 per couple, $15 for individuals over 12. All children under 12 are admitted free.

Make your plans to participate in this event: Celebrating the American Legion’s and Post 10’s many contributions to the nation and Wilmington over the last 100 years.  Legion Members are encouraged to wear your American Legion shirts, hats, etc.  You can be proud to be a member of The American Legion, Sons of The American Legion and the Post 10 family.
